Zitro’s Strategic Move Towards Sustainability: Launch of ESG Committee and New Departments

Zitro Launches Comprehensive Sustainability Initiative with New ESG Committee

In a groundbreaking move towards sustainability, Zitro has announced the formation of its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Committee, a strategic effort to embed sustainability practices into the heart of its operations. This initiative marks a significant step for Zitro, as it aims to lead by example in the integration of environmental responsibility, social impact, and ethical governance across all facets of its business.

The newly established ESG Committee will oversee the company’s Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) department, which is dedicated to promoting sustainable practices, social responsibility initiatives, and the principles of circularity. This move underscores Zitro’s commitment to not only ensuring the health and safety of its environment and people but also to making a positive impact on the planet.

To support these ambitious initiatives, Zitro has introduced an Integrated Management System (IMS), which includes the creation of four specialized sub-departments: the ISO Standards Management Office (IMO), the Climate Change Office (CCO), the Project Management Office (PMO), and the Jira Customization Office (JCO).

The IMO is tasked with ensuring that all ESG actions are certified and comply with relevant ISO standards, conducting internal and managing ISO audits, and overseeing the quality and documentation of ISO processes throughout the company. This office is pivotal in maintaining the highest standards of quality and sustainability in Zitro’s operations.

The CCO is at the forefront of Zitro’s fight against climate change, focusing on calculating and improving the company’s emissions footprint. Through regular energy efficiency audits, this office identifies opportunities for further sustainability measures, demonstrating Zitro’s proactive approach to environmental stewardship.

The PMO integrates sustainability considerations throughout the software development lifecycle, tracking the time and costs associated with these efforts. By collaborating with the CCO and other departments, the PMO facilitates the implementation of sustainable practices and continuous improvement in Zitro’s software footprint.

Lastly, the JCO enhances Zitro’s sustainability efforts by improving the company’s Sustainable Calculation Platform. This custom solution for tracking carbon footprint is integrated into Zitro’s product offerings, supporting project planning, carbon footprint calculations, and the automation of processes based on ISO standards.

Johnny Viveiros Ortiz, the founder of Zitro, expressed pride in the company’s sustainability initiatives, stating, "With the establishment of the ESG Corporate Committee and the dedicated departments, we are poised to lead by example in our industry, driving meaningful change towards a more sustainable future."

Zitro’s comprehensive approach to sustainability, marked by the launch of the ESG Committee and the establishment of dedicated departments, positions the company as a leader in corporate responsibility and sustainable development. Through these initiatives, Zitro not only aims to enhance its own operations but also to set new industry benchmarks for sustainability.
