Austin Set to Host Premier Governance, Risk, and Control Conference in 2024
Austin, Texas, is gearing up to welcome global leaders in governance, risk, and control (GRC) as ISACA and The Institute of Internal Auditors (The IIA) announce the 11th annual GRC Conference, scheduled for 12-14 August 2024. This prestigious event, available both in-person and virtually, promises to delve deep into the core principles of GRC and internal audit, showcasing insights from around the world.
The conference is set to cover a wide array of critical topics, including cybersecurity, data management, technology trends, team building, and personal career growth. With the digital landscape evolving at an unprecedented rate, the sessions aim to equip professionals with the knowledge to navigate complexities in areas such as artificial intelligence, zero trust architecture, board communication, supply chain management, process mining, blockchain, and data privacy.
Highlighting the event are three keynote presentations from distinguished speakers. Zack Kass, an AI futurist, will explore the future of artificial intelligence and its implications for the professional world. Rachel Wilson, head of cyber security for Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, will discuss strategies for building resilience against the ever-changing cyber threat landscape. Additionally, former NFL running back and entrepreneur Justin Forsett will share his inspiring journey from sports to successful entrepreneurship, offering insights into overcoming challenges and making significant transitions.
A notable general session will feature Julia Kanouse, ISACA Chief Membership Officer, and Brad Monterio, IIA Executive Vice President, Member Competency and Learning. They will engage in a forward-looking discussion about setting oneself up for success in the GRC profession, reflecting on the conference’s takeaways and the future of the field.
The conference also offers two in-depth pre-conference workshops on 11 August, focusing on the adoption of AI within the digital trust ecosystem and adapting to the evolving risk landscape with AI and multi-cloud strategies. These workshops present an opportunity for attendees to deepen their understanding and earn additional continuing professional education (CPE) credits.
Participants can earn up to 16 hours of CPE credits by attending the conference, with an additional 8 credits available through the pre-conference workshops. Registration for in-person attendance will close on 9 August, encouraging interested professionals to secure their spots promptly.
